It’s TRADITION, right? We’ve ALWAYS made goodie plates to take to neighbors and coworkers, etc. But what if you’ve committed to a plant-based way of eating? Do you really have to give up a timeless tradition, just because you want to stay true to the plant-based lifestyle?

Well, now you can continue your favorite family tradition, while still promoting a healthy lifestyle! And guess what? Your neighbors, friends, and coworkers will still really enjoy and appreciate it too.

We gave THESE PLANT-BASED CHRISTMAS PLATES to our neighbors and friends last year, (instead of the traditional cookie plates) and we got some surprisingly wonderful feedback. HOW TO MAKE A PLANT-BASED CHRISTMAS PLATE:

Making Plant-based Christmas Plates

STEP ONE: 
Use a large PLASTIC plate (so the moisture won’t soak through.) and write your holiday greeting on the center of the plate, using a sharpie. Keep your writing fairly small, so there will be plenty of room to arrange the fruit around the edges of the plate. (I used black plates, so the vibrant colors of the fruit would stand out. I used a silver metallic sharpie for the writing.)

STEP TWO:
Cut off both ends of a ripe kiwi fruit. Slide a metal teaspoon just under the skin of the kiwi, and rotate the spoon all the way around the fruit (under the skin) to separate the skin from the fruit. The peeled kiwi should slip right out, and have a nice, smooth surface. Discard the skin. Slice the kiwi into 1/4 inch thick slices. Repeat with the remaining kiwi fruit.

STEP THREE:
Arrange the Kiwi slices around the edges of the plate, overlapping each slice with the next slice, creating a WREATH SHAPE. Sprinkle a few Pomegranate Arils over the kiwi slices, to create the look of “berries.”

STEP FOUR: 
Cover the plate with plastic wrap. Stick a bow on top of the wrap, near the top of the wreath.

Your Plant-based Christmas Plate is now ready to deliver. (Or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, if you aren’t able to deliver it right away.)
